THIS is exactly why you should NEVER EVER leave your children alone in ANY PUBLIC PLACE, including a library. No one ever believes that criminals, molesters, rapists, etc. could ever possibly wind up in a library. It's not like we scan people's morality at the door!

Please God let this be a lesson to every adult out there who ends up responsible for a child.

God that really pisses me off that parents for some reason believes that a library is somehow a safe place to leave their children. At the new library I work at, the childrens' department is its own floor w the desk up front and everything behind us. That just screams trouble.Last night, a mom just left here kid on the computer and seriously HOURS later came back for him.

No parent should leave their kid w us thinking that we are going to watch them. We are not babysitters.

It amazes me how parents leave their kids somewhere in a public place. I've worked both in a library and bookstore. I'd see that all the time. My job is not babysitter and if that was told to me as part of my job I'd leave the job.
